
Miriam O. Victorian joined our firm in February 2005. Ms. Victorian is an accomplished civil and criminal litigator with twenty-two years experience. Ms. Victorian brings her expertise in defense of medical malpractice, personal injury, products liability, and toxic tort cases. Ms. Victorian served in the United States Air Force as a Judge Advocate from 1982 to 1988 at bases in the United States and overseas. Her military legal experience included serving as lead counsel in over 40 litigated felony trials. She continued her military service in the United States Air Force Reserve while in private practice, retiring in August 2003 with the rank of Colonel.
Ms. Victorian received her Juris Doctor in May of 1982 from the University of Florida College of Law. She received her Bachelor of Arts in December 1978 from Meredith College, Raleigh, N.C. in American Civilization graduating Summa Cum Laude.
Ms. Victorian is admitted to the Bar in Florida (1982), Texas (1986), the United States Court of Military Appeals (1983), the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida (1983), the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals (1988), and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas (1989). Her professional memberships include: the Greater Houston Society for Healthcare Risk Management, the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management, the Houston Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association. Ms. Victorian currently serves as the Judicial Nominating Commission liaison for Tallahassee Women Lawyers. She also sits on the Military Affairs Committee of the Florida Bar. She has alumni status on the American Inns of Court, Stafford Inn.
Ms. Victorian has participated in presentations to members of the medical community, including: “Medical/Legal Issues: What You May Not Have Learned in Medical School,” Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX (2001) and “Mock Trial: How Will Your Documentation Hold Up?” Houston Northwest Medical Center and Park Plaza Hospital, Houston, TX (2002).
